Cast on 5 stitches (sts) in color 301 and work in garter stitch in color gradient.
- For the side slant, increase 22 x 1 st on both edges in every 8th row = 49 sts..
- Then work the bias only on the right edge and increase 15 x 1 st every 6th row = 64 sts..
- However, start the shortened rows after the 10th increase = 56 sts:
- For this on the left edge before the last 4 sts, work 1 double st and turn, * work back, on the following row work 4 sts less on the left edge work 1 double st and turn.
- Repeat from * until there are only 4 sts left.
- Knit 2 rows over all sts, knitting the double sts together on the 1st row.
The middle of the shawl has been reached. From the center, continue working the shawl in the opposite direction, i.e. increases become decreases and at the same time knit extended rows.
- To do this, knit 4 sts on the right edge, ** turn the work with 1 double st, knit back, knit the double sts together on the following row, knit 4 more sts.
- Repeat from ** until all sts are back in work.
At the same time, work the decreases along the right edge. - Then work the decreases on both sides.
- After the last decrease, knit 8 more rows and fasten off the last 5 sts.
Work a tassel for each end of the shawl.
Work a tassel for each end of the shawl. Bundle 30 cm (11.8 in) of 12-thread yarn from all colors, tie off an approx. 3 cm (1.2 in) long head and loosely sew on the tassels.

Knitting a double stitch
An alternative to knitting shortened and lengthened rows with yarn overs is the double stitch or overcast stitch.
Ideally, it is worked in stockinette stitch parts. However, other patterns are also possible. Knit up to the sts mentioned in the basic pattern and turn the work.
After turning, place the yarn in front of the work, insert into the 1st stitch from right to left, then lift the stitch and yarn together onto the right needle and pull the yarn firmly to the back, pulling the stitch over the needle so that it lies double
This method applies to all rows, regardless of whether knit or purl sts are worked. After the double sts have been worked, knit the rows back according to the pattern.
When knitting off, knit or purl the double sts together.
Important: Tighten the sts firmly, otherwise holes will appear later and/or the knitted pattern will not be even.
