Trendy kiwi crochet bag
Crochet a fruity, fresh kiwi bag - for fruit lovers and trendsetters. Made from cotton yarn, it is soft and washable and therefore ready for any use.

- 100% cotton (137 yd/ 5.3 oz | 125m/150g) in brown (approx. 70 g), dark green (approx. 50 g), black (leftovers) and white (approx. 15 g)

Crochet kiwi front side
Kiwi front (in white, black, dark green and brown):
Crochet in spiral rounds, starting with white.
- Rd 1: 7 sc into a magic ring.

Rd 2: 7 x (1 inc) [= 14 sts].

Rd 4: 7x (2 sc, 1 inc) [= 28 sts].

Close the round. Cut and sew the thread. Embroider short tension stitches in black around the white centre for the seeds.
For the back of the kiwi (in brown), repeat the 1st-22nd rnd. Crochet only with brown.

Strap (in brown and dark green):
Crochet in rows. The ch at the end of the row is not counted. Start with brown. Ch 9 and crochet as follows from the 2nd ch from the nd:
R 1.–173.: sc 8.
R 174.–177.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.
R 178.–179.: Change colour to brown, crochet 8 sc.
R 180.–183.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.
R 184.–185.: Change colour to brown, crochet 8 sc.
R 186.–189.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.
R 190.–191.: Change colour to brown, crochet 8 sc.
R 191.–194.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.
R 195.–196.: Change colour to brown, crochet 8 sc.
R 197.–200.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.
R 201.–202.: Change colour to brown, crochet 8 sc.
R 203.–206.: Change colour to dark green, work 8 sc.

Cut a long piece of thread and sew R 240 and R 1 together later.

Finishing
- Place the strap around the front of the kiwi and secure approx. 14.6"/ 37 cm (approx. 80 rows) with the pins.

Sew in place in this position. Now pin the back to the opposite long edge of the strap and sew in place [image 1].

Now sew the strap together at the short edge (R 240 and R 1) [Fig. 2-4]
Use a tassel maker to make two approx. 10 cm long tassels and sew them to the left side of the bag strap.

Finishing
- Place the strap around the front of the kiwi and secure approx. 14.6"/ 37 cm (approx. 80 rows) with the pins.

Sew in place in this position. Now pin the back to the opposite long edge of the strap and sew in place [image 1].

Now sew the strap together at the short edge (R 240 and R 1) [Fig. 2-4]
Use a tassel maker to make two approx. 10 cm long tassels and sew them to the left side of the bag strap.
