From small things, big things can come: for #machdeinding 2025, designer Anna Husemann has created a reversible mini bag.

It can be knitted, crocheted or sewn.

Get creative with your mini bag for the creative competition organised by the Initiative Handarbeit and, with a little luck, win shopping money for your next yarn or fabric purchase.

Show off your bag and post your pictures with the hashtag #machdeinding2025 on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or on your blog. Please make sure that the photo is publicly visible and feel free to tag us with @initiativehandarbeitOr send a photo to sandra.cantzler@initiative-handarbeit.de.
The closing date is 30 June 2025.
After that, our jury of experts will select the winners. This year, the prizes are shopping money for your next creative purchase.

Knitting a mini bag

The bag is perfect for creatively utilising leftover yarn.

Whether you go for colourful stripes or a multi-threaded design for exciting colour gradients or unconventional combinations of outer and inner pockets – there's plenty of room for experimentation and personality.

What you need:

Worsted-weight or Aran-weight yarn (90 m/ 50 g) or mix of materials
Ca. 261 m oder 145g pro Tasche (je 70g für Außen- und Innentasche, ca. 5g für optionalen I-cord Verschluss)
Double-pointed needles, addiCraSyTrio Long or a 4 mm circular needle (or the needle size needed to obtain the required gauge)

Tip: Of course, you can also make the bag bigger or smaller.

What you need:

Worsted-weight oder Aran-weight Garn (105 m/ 50 g) oder Materialmix aus unterschiedlichen Garnstärken.
Ca. 336m oder 160g pro Tasche (je 78 g für Außen- und Innentasche, ca. 4g für optionalen Band-Verschluss)
Crochet hook 5 mm (or the needle size needed to meet the gauge)
