Winding a double hat from reflective yarn
The double hat made with reflection yarn is not only quick and easy to knit - it is also nice and warm and can be knitted in one or two colors.
The hat is therefore a real all-rounder and can also be worn as a reversible hat - in a different color on the inside than on the outside - and create a special color highlight by folding the cuff over.
Tip: The size and flexibility of the hat changes depending on the yarn and its properties - regardless of the yarn used, the yarn tension also influences how stretchy or firm the knitted piece becomes. More information about the yarn in the article Which yarn to use.

Cast on stitches
- Cast on the stitches in the round as usual with your yarn of the first color.
- Set the counter to zero
Streifenmuster:
- Now start with the hat and work 5 roundswith your yarn in colour 1.
- Change the yarn colour (in front of the first black needle) after every 5th round
- To do this, simply cut the yarn at the beginning of the round (black needle 1) (leaving a few centimeters of yarn remaining) and knot the yarn of the desired color. The knot should not be under a needle when cranking.
- Continue with the stripes and change every 5 rounds until a total of 80 rounds have been completed.
Color change
- Now you have reached the middle of the hat. You can either continue in stripes or, for a reversible hat with two sides, continue in a different solid color.
- To do this, simply cut the yarn at the beginning of the round (black needle 1) (leaving a few centimeters of yarn remaining) and knot the yarn of the desired color. The knot should not be under a needle when cranking.
- Now wind approximately 80 rounds with this color as well (or, as in our example, wind 40 rounds of yellow, then 40 rounds of pink).
- End winding at the last white neddle (46) in front of the first black needle (1).

Finishing double layer hat
- Cut the yarn after approx. 60 cm and remove it from the yarn guide
- Slowly turn the round without yarn and stop before the first stitch (first black needle) rises again.
- Threading the yarn into the enclosed sewing needle, slip the stitches clockwise on the needle and pull the yarn through.
The end of the hat should now be easy to pull together. One of the colors is now turned inside out and both pulled tips can be sewn together with a few stitches, make a knot using the end thread.
Tip: While wearing, the hat can be turned around - depending on which color you want to show on the outside.

Optional: For lovers of a bobble hat, a bobble can be wrapped and attached to the end of the hat with the addiMoon Pompommaker. The hat can then no longer be turned.
