Crochet fruity patches – strawberry, lemon, and orange
Fruity patches are a quick way to put you in a good mood. As patches on bags, upcycled clothing, or table decorations, they can be used to creatively enhance any item. A design by Ms. Line.

Size: 12 x 9 cm (approx. 4.75 x 3.5 in)
In colour Tangerine:
Crochet in a continuous round.
- Rd 1: Work 6 sc in a magic ring.

Join the round with an invisible method and weave in the yarn end.
Big leaf (in Apple Green):
Work in rounds. Chain 20, then work into both sides of the chain sts starting at the second ch from the hook.
- Rd 1: 5 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 6 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 3 ch, continuing on the other side of the chain, work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 6 tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 5 sc. (38 sts)
Cut yarn and weave in ends .
Small leaf (in Apple Green):
Work in rounds. Chain 15, then work into both sides of the chain sts starting at the second ch from the hook.
- Rd 1: 3 sc, 1 hdc, 8 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 3 ch, continuing on the other side of the chain, work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 8 dc, 1 hdc, 3 sc. (28 sts)
Cut yarn and weave in ends .
Finishing:
Sew the leaves to the wrong side (back) of the orange, overlapping them and placing the small leaf over the big leaf.

Do not cut the yarn. Work 1 rnd of sc all around the strawberry, working 1 inc each into first and last st of the chain from the beginning. Join the round with an invisible method and weave in the yarn end. With Snow White and the wool needle, embroider short straight stitches on the strawberry.
Leaves (in Apple Green):
Work in the round. *Chain 11, then start working into the second ch from the hook.
- Rd 1: 1 sc, 3 hdc, 5 dc, 1 sl st*. (9 sts)

Do not cut the yarn. Rep from * to * 4 times more (= 5 leaves).
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. With the wool needle and the yarn tail, sew the leaves to the strawberry.

starting by turning the piece 45° and working along the left edge to the chain from the beginning. Then work into the chain as follows: 2 sc, [2 dc in the same st] 2x, 2 sc

Continue working: Then work into R22 as follows: 2 sc, [2 tr in the same st] 2x, 2 sc.

sc along the right edge until R22.

Continue working: Join the round with an invisible method and weave in the yarn end.
Leaf (2x in Apple Green)
Work in rounds. Chain 14, then work into both sides of the chain sts starting at the second ch from the hook.
- Rd 1: 3 sc, 1 hdc, 6 dc, 2 hdc, 1 sc, 3 ch, continuing on the other side of the chain work 1 sc, 2 hdc, 6 dc, 1 hdc, 3 sc. (26 sts)
Cut yarn and weave in ends .
Finishing:
Sew the leaves to the wrong side (back) of the lemon, overlapping them.

Sew the leaves to the wrong side (back) of the lemon, overlapping them.
Tip:
Crocheting patches is a very good way to pimp up / upcycle outdated items of clothing.
The patches can also be used as tags for garlands, individual gift decorations or seasonal table decorations.
