New galvanizing at addi
BACK TO START – OUR EFFORTS ARE SUCCESSFUL
Early 2014, a decision was made for nickel-free galvanizing in order to offer our knitting fans surfaces other than nickel. The goal was to make the production more ecological and non-polluting, achieving good, measurable results on a continuous level at the same time. Selter therefore again invests in the German site – with a high six-figure investment.
The fine-tuning of the planning went on until mid-2015. Early 2015, the new sewage facility was started up, as a first milestone; sewage is now discharged in drinking water quality. This was heavy work for our technical project manager and galvanizing director; but they always looked forward to a good result and did not falter.
ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE; TRANSPARENT, MEASURABLE QUALITYr
Fine-planning also considers water savings and energy savings by new methods and a more efficient workflow. The bath heating systems are integrated into the central heat circulation system via a recovery circle, for instance; the sewage system saves a lot of water and energy costs. This is not only an advantage for addi‘s operating costs, but also for the environment.
EVERYTHING "MADE IN GERMANY"
Selter GmbH‘s new white bronze needles from the revamped galvanizing facility are another statement in favour of producing at a site in Germany. With a total area of 160 square meters, the galvanizing facility is capable of producing a minimum of 4 million small tubes every year. The process is fully automatic; the new company-owned testing unit for layer thickness control and bath analysis ensures that our customers will get the best quality “Made in Germany” we can offer you.
Luxury for your hands – more fun during knitting!
