Jackenstricknadeln werden verwendet, um Flächen zu Stricken, beispielsweise Pullover, Jacken oder Schals. Allerdings lassen sich mit ihnen nur Stücke stricken, deren maximale Breite der Nadellänge entspricht.
Straight knitting needles
Single pointed needles are long, straight knitting needles (20-40 cm/ 8″-16″) with one tip. At the other end, the needles have a kind of button. This prevents the stitches from slipping off the needle at the end.
Unlike circular needles, you can only work in rows back and forth and the individual pieces have to be sewn together afterwards. Knitting in rows means that you bind off the stitches on the left hand needle and transfer them to the right hand needle. After a completed row, turn the knitting over and work the back row.
