addiExpress Bert Bat knitting
Bert Bat decided to leave behind his nocturnal shadow world forever. Now he'll just hang out with his new friend, Mike Monster.
Simply knit the bats as Halloween decorations using a knitting machine.

What you need:
- addiExpress knitting machine or double-pointed needles
- 1 Ball black wool of your choice (needle sizes 4 - 8 mm/ U.S. 6 - 11)
- 1 Plexiglass ball, 12 cm diameter
- 250 g quartz sand, filled into a plastic bag
- Black feathers
- 8 strips of black paperboard (220 g/sq m), each 1.5 cm wide and 30 cm long
- 1 DIN-A4-sheet of black paperboard (220 g/sq m)
- 1 DIN-A4-sheet of white paperboard (220 g/sq m)
- 1 pair of eyes
- 1 pompon
- 1 tension spring
Step 1 – Knitting Bert Bat
Knit Tube and Basic Woolly Body
Wind with addiExpress Professional:
- Wind a knit tube with about 45 rows.
- For a high density result, knit thinner yarns double-threaded (needle size 4-6 mm), knit thicker yarns single-threaded (needle size 7-8 mm)
Knit by hand:
- Cast on a total of 32 stitches (white and gold yarn) onto a double-pointed or addiCraSyTrio
- Knit the tube in stockinette stitch for approx. 30 rounds until it is slightly longer than 20 cm.

Wind with addiExpress Professional:
- Wind a knit tube with about 45 rows.
- For a high density result, knit thinner yarns double-threaded (needle size 4-6 mm), knit thicker yarns single-threaded (needle size 7-8 mm)
Knit by hand:
- Cast on a total of 32 stitches (white and gold yarn) onto a double-pointed or addiCraSyTrio
- Knit the tube in stockinette stitch for approx. 30 rounds until it is slightly longer than 20 cm.

Finishing
- Place the sand-filled bag into the Plexiglass egg and then seal up the egg with packing tape.

Make a knit tube according to the template, pull over the egg and sew together each end. Hang the tension spring in the hanger of the Plexiglass egg.

Cut the wings, feet and ears according to the template from black paperboard. Cut the mouth from the white paperboard and paint as illustrated.

Make the arms and legs from 2 strips of paper each: glue together the ends of the two strips at right angles and fold towards the glued area, accordion style, alternating direction each time. Now glue on the feet and wings.
Glue all of the parts, beginning with the face, onto the egg. Decorate the wings with the feathers.

Finishing
- Place the sand-filled bag into the Plexiglass egg and then seal up the egg with packing tape.

Make a knit tube according to the template, pull over the egg and sew together each end. Hang the tension spring in the hanger of the Plexiglass egg.
