addiExpress Kingsize instruction
addiExpress striped hat winding
A stretchy striped hat with two differing sides - from one side it is striped evenly, from the other side the stripes get slightly wider.
Table of contents
What you need:
- 2 balls of Woolly Hugs Merino Stretch 120 yd/ 1.8 oz (110 m/50 g), colour brick (127, colour A) and light beige (105, colour B)
-
addiExpress Kingsize knitting machine
-
Wool needle
-
Scissors e.g. addiGoldmarie
Size:
One size, head circumference 20.5 - 23.5 (52 - 60 cm) with stretch yarn
Tip:
Colour change in rounds
When changing colors, always make sure that the two threads cross. The unused ball of yarn is in the middle of the machine, the ball of yarn being worked is on the outside. When changing, place the previous ball of yarn to the left
of the ball in the middle and take the ball to the right of it from the middle - this ensures that the threads always cross evenly.
When continuing to crank, make sure that the new thread is not taut see also video (only in german).
This is how it works:
addiExpress striped hat winding
Cast on 46 sts in color A and work 22 rounds:
- alternating 1 round in color A and 1 round in color B
Then work 24 rounds:
- alternating 2 rounds in color A and 2 rounds in color B = 46 rounds in total.
Work 94 rounds:
- 3 rounds in color A and 3 rounds in color B until a total of 140 rounds have been cranked.
Now slip the stitches on with the thread and the darning needle. Pull the hat into shape.
Then pull the starting stitches and the end stitches together and sew them with a few stitches.
Fold the hat in half and sew the beginning and end together with the threads. Cut the threads.
One side of the hat is now evenly striped - the second side shows the changing stripes.
