addiExpress Christmas beanie winding

The addiExpress Christmas hat is cranked from the cuff to the top and the double cuff is worked by picking up the initial stitches on the knitting machine. This means that no weaving in is necessary and the cuff is nice and stretchy.

• Wind approx. 60 rounds with white.

• Now pick up all the initial stitches with a helping hook - such as addiDuett - and lift them over the red double hooks of the addiExpress knitting machine.
  • It is important to pick up stitch by stitch in gerader Linie in a straight line without skipping stitches so that the cuff does not warp.
• Then crank very slowly and use the helping hook to lift the picked up stitches over the needle coming up on the knitting machine. Be careful to only lift the upper yarn over the needle.

Once all the stitches have been lifted over, the double cuff is finished. Now simply cut off the white yarn.

Continue with the red yarn.

• Wind approx. 70 rows with the red yarn until there is only about 50cm/20in of yarn left to bind off.
• To finish the hat, remove the yarn from the yarn holder and crank one round without yarn.
• Now thread the yarn into the red sewing needle of the addiExpress machine and secure each stitch with the needle and lift off.

Once all the stitches have been threaded, remove the hat from the machine and pull the end thread together so that the hat closes.

Secure the top of the hat with a few stitches and pull the thread inwards and weave it in.

Now all that's missing is the pom-pom to finish off the addiExpress Christmas hat.

This is particularly easy to wind with our addiMoon PomPom-Set . Simply wind a 5.5cm/2.2in pom-pom (pink) with the white yarn according to the instructions. Knot the pompom well with a white thread, then cut off the end thread with a little length.

Finally, thread the threads of the pompom knot through the top of the hat and knot tightly from the inside. Weave in the threads and you're done.
