Winding a double layer hat with addiExpress knitting machine
The double hat is an easy project for knitting machine beginners, as it is worked in the round in one piece and then simply pulled together at both ends.
- addiExpress Kingsize knitting machine
- Soft yarn approx. 50-70 g (70-110 m/ 50 g) in one or two colors
- e.g. 4 balls of Merino yarn (2 pieces per color)

Winding a double layer hat with addiExpress
The double hat is not only quick and easy to knit - it is also nice and warm and can be knitted in one or two colors.
The hat is therefore a real all-rounder and can also be worn as a reversible hat - in a different color on the inside than on the outside - and create a special color highlight by folding the cuff over.

Cast on stitches
- Cast on the stitches in the round as usual with your yarn of the first color.
- Set the counter to zero
- Now start with the hat and work approx. 80 rounds with your yarn in colour 1.

Color change
- Now you can switch to color 2 if you prefer. To do this, simply cut the thread of color 1 at the beginning of the round (black needle 1) (leave a few cm of thread) and cross the thread of color 2 with the old thread.
- Now work approx. 80 rounds with color 2.
- End with needle 46.

Finishing double layer hat
- Cut the yarn after approx. 60 cm and remove it from the yarn guide
- Eine Runde ohne Faden langsam kurbeln und stoppen, bevor die erste Masche sich wieder erhebt.
- Threading the yarn into the enclosed sewing needle, slip the stitches clockwise and pull the yarn through.
The end of the hat should now be easy to pull together. One of the colors is now turned inside out and both pulled tips can be sewn together with a few points using the end thread.
Tip: While wearing, the hat can be turned around - depending on which color you want to show on the outside.
