Knit a family beanie hat
This cosy beanie made from high-quality Scheepjes wool keeps you nice and warm and is the perfect companion for chilly days. The simple pattern gives it a modern look. A tutorial from Scheepjes.
This hat is easy to knit and ideal for beginners. One ball of Scheepjes Woolwise in your chosen colour is enough for the entire hat.
- Scheepjes Woolwise (100g/200m)
- Yellow version: 713 Lemon Zest x 1 ball
- Blue version: 751 Pale Azure x 1 ball
- Brown version: 711 Cacao Husk x 1 ball
- addi Novel Quintett 4 mm (US 6) DPN or addi CraSyTrio Novel Long 4 mm (US 6)
- stitch marker
- 34 stitches and 30 rows in 1 x 1 rib pattern with 4 mm circular needles measure 10 cm x 10 cm
- Note: Measure before blocking.
- 18 x 31 cm (7"x 12") = Size M
Knit the beanie hat
The beanie is knitted from the bottom up, i.e. from the cuff to the top.
- Cast on on 120 sts. Join to work in the round, taking care not to twist sts.
- Pm for begin of the round and slip stitch marker at the start of each round.
- K1, p1 to end.
Rep Round 1 until Hat measures 23.5 cm (9.3")

Work decreases
Divide st count by 4 and pm between each section.
- Dec round: (Ssk, cont in 1 x 1 rib to 2 sts before next sm, k2tog, sm) 4 times. [112 sts]
- Next round: Work in 1 x 1 rib.
- Rep last 2 rounds until 14 sts remain between sm. [56 sts]
- Rep Dec round until 4 sts remain between sm. [16 sts]
- Break yarn and pull yarn through rem sts, pull tight and fasten off.
- Block to measurements.
