Crochet necklace with beads
These crochet instructions were part of a popular set from our addiPearls collection a few years ago. Today, we are bringing the instructions back in a fresh new form because we believe that trends always come back, and crocheted pearl necklaces are currently enjoying a comeback.

What you need:
- 30 m jewellery wire
-
approximately 400 beads (2–6 mm)
-
1 chain lock
-
1.75 mm addiPur or addiFine yarn crochet hook
Note: You can combine different types of beads. Anything that can be threaded onto your wire will work. Instead of wire, you can also use thin crochet yarn (size 20 or 30).
How it works
Crochet necklace with beads
The crochet necklace consists of a long chain stitch band into which you work beads of various shapes and colours. The band is then folded into a multi-row necklace.
1. Thread your beads (mixed or uniform, depending on your preference) onto the wire. This goal is to create a bead string approximately 1.40–1.50 m long. Do not cut the wire after threading!

Step 2
Start crocheting. To ensure you have enough wire at the start, keep pushing the beads back. Make sure the wire does not kink. After six starting chains, push the first bead onto the chain stitch and crochet it into the next chain stitch, then three more chains, one bead and so on.

Step 3
Continue until all the beads are crocheted in. This will create a 4–4.5 m long string of pearls. At the end, pull the wire through the last chain stitch and cut it off (leave a piece for sewing).
Step 4
Now lay the chain out to the desired length (approx. 41–44 cm). It is best to ask a second person to help you with this by holding out their index fingers and holding the chain apart at the desired length. Then wrap the bead string around their index fingers. Alternatively, you can wrap it around a book of the appropriate circumference.

Part 5
Finishing
Sew the ends several times into the chain stitches and beads using the excess wire.
Finally, join the ends together with an eyelet and a fastener attached to each one. The fastener ring must be closed securely!
