addiLoop or other thick darning needle (optional)
-

Size: approx. 10 x 15 cm
This is how it works:
Start and basic round
Crochet in spiral rounds - without slip stitches at the end of the round. The side of the wooden base that will later be at the bottom faces you.
- Leave the starting thread about 30cm /11.8" long.
- With the crochet hook get a loop through any hole of the wooden bottom.
-
Crochet one slip stitch in each hole of the wooden bottom until only one hole is left un crocheted.
-
Remove the crochet hook from the loop, bring the beginning thread up through the un crocheted hole and pull it through the loop from below. Pass the beginning thread back through the first crocheted slip stitch, then stitch one more time from the top into the loop and back into the hole. Tighten the beginning and working thread (see photos, pink yarn).
-
Now pierce the next hole - above the slip stitch - and pull the working thread through. Crochet a chain stitch and work a single crochet in the same place. Continue to crochet 2 single crochet in each hole.
Main part
- Work a single crochet in every 3rd loop of the single crochet stitches of the previous round (see photo) until the desired height is reached.
-
In the example, about 10 rounds were crocheted. So the yarn is still enough for the final round.
