What is a jacquard pattern?
Jaquard pattern means that a two-coloured pattern is knitted with two threads that are alternately knitted off according to the pattern chart.
The thread that is not being knitted should be crossed once every 3-4 sts with the knitted thread on the back of the knitted piece. You will learn how to do this: Learn more in the video..
Knitting two-colour patterns is made easier, especially for beginners, by a Yarn ring like addi2You Handling is simplified because there is enough space between the two threads. If your thread tension is too loose, the threads can also be wrapped once around the ring eyelets.
A even thread tension of both threads is important to keep the pattern even and to prevent the knitted piece from becoming too tight on the inside due to too tight tension threads and no longer fitting.
Pattern
Ribbing in the Round
- K1, p1 in alternation.
Stockinette Stitch:
- In Rounds: K all sts.
- In Rows: K all sts on RS, p all sts on WS.
Double Stitches (ds)
Both in the RS and WS row: After turning, place the yarn in front of the work, pick up the first stitch and pull the yarn firmly to the back. The stitch is pulled over the needle and lies double.
Jacquard Pattern
The number of stitches must be divisible by 4. Knit all rounds in stockinette stitch according to the chart, working the repeat of 4 sts continuously.

Top-down Boomerang Heel
The Boomerang Heel in stockinette stitch in white over sts of 4th and 1st ndl. To do this, combine all sts on one ndl and divide mentally or with the help of stitch markers into 3 sections (10-12-10/11-12-11/11-12-11 sts).
First (upper) part of heel:
- Row 1 (RS): purl all sts, turn.
- Row 2 (WS): work one ds, p all other sts, turn.
- Row 3 (RS): work one ds, k all sts to ds, turn.
- Row 4 (WS): work one ds, p all sts to ds, turn.
Repeat row 3 and 4 until 10/11/11/12 ds, 12 single sts, 10/11/11 ds are made.
Now k 2 Rnds over all sts of the 4 needles. When doing this, each ds is knitted as a single st.
Second (lower) part of heel:
- Row 1 (RS): k the sts of the middle third and the 1st st of the left third, turn.
- Row 2 (WS): work one ds, p the sts of the middle third and the 1st st of the right third, turn.
- Row 3 (RS): work a ds, k all sts including the ds and 1 additional st, turn.
- Row 4 (WS): work one ds, p all sts including the ds and 1 additional st, turn.
Repeat 3rd and 4th row until outer third sts are ds. Distribute sts of heel again evenly on 2 nds.
If you have a high instep, you can knit a classic heel alternatively.
