Knit Angel Erika
Angel Erika is a guardian angel with heart and soul. Her dream job for over 200 years.
Erika is made – by hand or with the addiExpress professional – quite simply from a knitted tube and charms every year at Christmas.
- 1 ball of white wool
- 1 ball of gold yarn
- addiExpress Professional
- or DPN / addiCraSyTrio US 10.75 (7 mm)
- Wool for the hair
- 1 Styrofoam cone, 20 cm high
- 1 wooden ball, 5 cm diameter
- Gold rickrack
- Gold cardboard
- Fine-tip pens in red and black
Knitting Angel Erika- knit body
Wind with addiExpress Professional:
- Wind a knit tube with about 45 rows.
- Work in two threads with the white wool and the gold yarn. Depending on the thickness of the yarn, the white wool can also be knitted double-threaded to create a tighter stitch pattern.
Knit by hand:
- Cast on a total of 32 stitches (white and gold yarn) onto a double-pointed or addiCraSyTrio
- Knit about 45 rounds in stockinette.

Wind with addiExpress Professional:
- Wind a knit tube with about 45 rows.
- Work in two threads with the white wool and the gold yarn. Depending on the thickness of the yarn, the white wool can also be knitted double-threaded to create a tighter stitch pattern.
Knit by hand:
- Cast on a total of 32 stitches (white and gold yarn) onto a double-pointed or addiCraSyTrio
- Knit about 45 rounds in stockinette.
Knitting Angel Erika – cover body
- Bind off the knit tube and pull it together at the top. Pull the knit tube over the Styrofoam body.
- Now close the tube on the bottom side as well.
Tip: If the knit tube is too long, then you can punch a hole in the Styrofoam body through the underside and stuff the extra knit tube inside it. This also enables the figure to stand better.
Knitting Angel Erika – cover body
- Bind off the knit tube and pull it together at the top. Pull the knit tube over the Styrofoam body.
- Now close the tube on the bottom side as well.
Tip: If the knit tube is too long, then you can punch a hole in the Styrofoam body through the underside and stuff the extra knit tube inside it. This also enables the figure to stand better.
Knitting Angel Erika – finishing
- Glue the wool for the hair onto the top half of the wooden ball, leaving approx. 12 cm on both sides so that you can braid them.
- Draw the face with the fine-tip markers.
- Glue the gold rickrack on the bottom and top of the body.
- Cut out the angel wings according to the template (PDF download) and glue on.

- Glue the wool for the hair onto the top half of the wooden ball, leaving approx. 12 cm on both sides so that you can braid them.
- Draw the face with the fine-tip markers.
