Alternative: Loop shawl
Instead of knitting your scarf as a straight piece, you can also knit it wider and join it into a round for a loop scarf.
Cast on 40 sts in contrasting residual yarn, knit 1 st as follows:
- 3 left sts, 2 right sts, 30 left sts, 2 right sts, 3 left sts.
- Then knit 38 rows with colour 1, while knitting the sts as they appear.
- Continue 38 rows with colour 2
- followed by 38 rows with colour 3.
Rep this report another 2x. Carefully remove the contrasting yarn at the beginning and lift the released sts onto the needle. Now place both needle points in front of each other in parallel and then connect the opposite stitches with each other in knit stitch.
Steaming the loop shawl will allow the side ribs to pop extra nicely. Done!
