Winding pot holders with addiExpress Kingsize
Made in no time at all from double-threaded cotton yarn. Winding creates potholders that also look great as coasters in matching colors for the kitchen.
Ideal for using up leftover cotton yarn!

- Mindestens 2 Baumwollgarne, insgesamt ca. 55 g
- Ein fester gezwirntes Garn (Standart Häkelgarn 125 m/ 50 g), z.B. Lang Quattro, Pro Lana Basic Cotton
- Ein weniger gezwirtes zweites Garn ähnlicher Lauflänge macht das Ergebnis schön dicht z.B. Scheepjes Catona, Rauma Petunia
- addiExpress Kingsize
- Häkelnadel addiDuett 4,5 mm
- Darning needle
- Scissors
Size: ca. 18 × 18 cm
The two-layered potholders are wound in the round and closed at both ends by crocheting them together so that they provide tight and impermeable protection against heat.
Tip: To make them even denser and thicker, a thin felt fabric or similar can be placed inside before the second side of the potholder is closed.
Make sure that both yarns together are not too thick for the addiExpress knitting machine. It helps to winding a small test piece beforehand. The machine should turn easily.
Winding pot holders made of cotton
- Set the machine to “circular knitting”
- Cast on with waste yarns and winding 5-6 rounds.
- Set the row counter to 0.
- Change to the main yarn and wind 37 rounds.

Then crochet both openings together at the beginning and end, see technique “Closing edges”.
