As simple as possible, as good as possible.
Of course she is proud of her magazine series "Woolly Hugs Maschenwelt", which is now published 8 times a year and in which she presents models from her own wool collection. She runs her small editorial office at home in Appenweier.
A small room with barely fifteen square metres, a desk, high shelves - it is hard to imagine that this small office is the control centre of a particularly successful Youtuber and various Facebook groups. More than 195,000 users have subscribed to her YouTube channel, her videos have been clicked on more than 70 million times. In addition, about 20 magazines and several books are produced in this small office every year.

"Only those who dare to do a lot can do a lot".
Contact with readers via Youtube & Facebook
On Facebook, she founded the group "Woolly Hugs" almost 10 years ago for fans of needlework with wool of all kinds - by now, more than 44,000 members have joined. "I was surprised how many people I reach with my videos and via Facebook," Veronika Hug says today looking back. She thought very carefully about whether she should take the step into the (online) public sphere. But the desire to have contact with readers swept any misgivings aside. "It was a big step, but I have never regretted it," says the author. "On the contrary. I'm glad to have contact with readers and I'm happy about every new member."

Where does she get all the ideas for her models?
"I am inspired by fashion as seen in the city or on TV," says Veronika Hug. Some ideas also come from questions and suggestions from readers and in exchange with her many Facebook contacts.
Veronika Hug acquired the know-how to develop and realise such ideas through art knitting. Already at the age of 15, the accomplished needleworker picked up knitting and crochet needles and knitted whatever yarn she could find. Later, she devoted herself to knitting - a creative balance to her then job as an administrative assistant. At this time she also began to design knitting models herself. Soon she received her first commissions to write instructions, which she did for many years until she finally worked as an editor and author herself and published her first books. She was always open to new techniques, so that for example knooking, knitting or the Tunisian crochet technique and quite recently macramé were added.
As simple as possible, as good as possible:
Uncomplicated needlework ideas for beginners and advanced.
One of Veronika's concerns has always been to make needlework as easy as possible, so that not only experts can participate. When knitting socks, for example, she developed her very own method of starting them at the toe to make knitting easier. A technique she also uses for gloves. And in her magazine series "Woolly Hugs - Maschenwelt", she also makes a point of ensuring that the models are not too complicated in design - and yet still come along with a sophisticated zing.
She knits with addi needles and has developed an extensive click set with knitting and crochet needles in cooperation.
