Some visits are truly special. Take, for example, the visit from Veronika Hug—better known to many as Woolly Hugs—and her knitting group, who traveled all the way to Altena from all over Germany.
An exciting day at addi and a donation toward the world record for socks
It was clear right from the moment they arrived: this is a place where people come together who share a common passion—a love of knitting and crocheting. And they were also united by their curiosity about addi. During a tour of our production facility led by addi CEO Claudia Malcus, they got to experience firsthand how the addi knitting and crochet needles—which many of them have been using for years—are made. And they were thrilled! They were also totally impressed by how much work goes into a single needle. No one had expected that. One more reason for many of them to remain loyal to addi.

It connects generations, builds friendships, and turns individual stitches into something great. That’s exactly what we experienced that day.

An emotional highlight of the day was the presentation of a check for 9,000 euros, made possible by the sale of the addiCraSySnake Charity – a special edition set of double-pointed needles. With this donation, addi is supporting the World Sock Record, a unique project that brings people together, fosters community, and demonstrates the power of a shared goal. What makes this project so special is that, in the end, many people benefit from it, as the socks are distributed to cold-weather buses and homeless individuals.
