Ökoprofit Certification – We're Investing in the Future
ÖKOPROFIT® (ÖKOlogisches PROjekt Für Integrierte Umwelt-Technik) is a pioneering and proven programme that supports companies and institutions in establishing sustainable practices and thus strengthening their own competitiveness.
Back in 2020, we received recognized and proven certification for our environmental and climate protection practices, and we have been recertified ever since. Find out what that means here.
Sustainability and environmental awareness have always been part of addi‘s company policy. This mindful attitude is also reflected in our participation in the ÖKOPROFIT Märkischer Kreis eco-project.
We are also going for recertification in 2024 to ensure the award continues. At addi, we have a project team of around 18 employees who meet regularly to review measures that have already been taken or introduce new measures. And they do so successfully:

- Environmentally friendly technologies, e.g. in the use of materials and transport of raw materials
- e.g. transport of bamboo is optimised to conserve resources
- We source many of our raw materials from the region
- We use reusable packaging, reduce its size and weight and switch to recycled paper and cardboard
- We reduce the consumption of electricity and the production of waste

- 2016 Investment in a new electroplating facility with low wastewater discharge and high energy and resource efficiency
- 2017 Purchase of a new energy-efficient compressed air system
- 2019 Purchase of a leak detection device and the sealing of detected leaks saves 15,000 kWh of electricity and 8.3 tons of CO² per year.
- 2019 Gradual Installation of Machine Insulation
- 2020 Improving analytics in the electroplating department – Reduction in the use of chemical fertilizers
- 2020 Reuse of Used Cardboard Boxes – Reduction in material consumption

- 2020 Extending the service life of racks in the electroplating process through demetallization – Reduction in material consumption

- 2020/21 Replacing defective light bulbs with LEDs Includes motion detectors – annual savings of 45,000 kWh of electricity and 27 metric tons of CO2
- 2021 Improving analytics in the electroplating department – Reduction in the use of chemical fertilizers
- 2021 Switch to Green Electricity – Avoiding 210 metric tons of CO2
- 2022 Financial Support for Municipal Reforestation
- 2022 Planting a flower meadow and building an insect house and birdhouses
