Knitting the toe
The toe always starts the same – with 8 stitches picked up in parallel on two needles.
- Cast on 8 stitches (4 on each needle).
-
Round 1: Knit one round.
How the increases are arranged and which pattern will result depends on the sock toe. Simply choose the toe that you prefer. Here we present 2 variations:
Choose the tip you like best.
For the Classic Rounded Toe is always increased at the beginning and end of both needles, first every row, then every second row (according to the sock chart), until a tip has been created that runs around the toes like a band. This is a classic sock tip.
The Round Toe by contrast, the increases are distributed over the round and the spacing gets larger in each round. In this way this tip is shaped more round without an accentuated increase edge.

Knitting the heel
Choose the heel you like best.
Some heels – like the boomerang heel, shadow wrap heel, increase heel, and striped heel – are knit the same way you already know them from top-down sock knitting. Others, like the classic heel, require a little adjustment.
Here we introduce you to the boomerang heel and the classic gusset and flap heel for toe-up socks.
Tip: Which fese fits the foot best?
The Boomerang Heel is particularly suitable for a flat to medium instep, as the height of the heel cannot be adjusted.
The Classic heel II (Toe-Up) the height of the foot can be determined by knitting the flap and gusset more or less increases than indicated.
