The Magic of the Unicorn

The noble, spiral structure of the tips massages the hands while knitting and the shiny and shimmering surface gives the addi needle with pink cord a portion of elegance. This structure makes the needles easier to grip and at the same time beautifully sleek. It guides the yarn smoothly thanks to its spiral shape.

The addiUnicorn circular knitting needle is available in needle sizes 2.0 mm to 8.0 mm, with cord lengths from 60 to 150 cm.

Perfectly finished needles

Decades of experience have gone into the design of addi circular knitting needles. The finest transitions between needle tip and cord, as well as the smoothest, white-bronzed needle tips, allow stitches glide effortlessly.

The raw material for our needle tips is brass. This is given the special unicorn structure and is then refined in many layers with a white bronze surface, which makes our addi needles so extremely smooth. This combination results in a new knitting feel. Made of smooth material with a light feel due to the spiral structure.

Tip: The basic tips are very suitable for thicker and more fibrous yarns (e.g. bobbles that are not twisted or only slightly twisted yarns) because the tips do not accidentally pierce ‘between’ the yarn but into the stitches.

My fingers really do seem to tire less quickly and the slightly ridged structure also seems to hold the three individual threads together better. A perfect connection

The elastic pink cord is a special highlight – especially for the unicorn needle, it adds a touch of colour.

The flexible plastic ropes, printed with the length and strength, are ‘knotted’ with the needle tips in a special process and thus permanently connected without any transitions.

Comparison: addiUnicorn, addiNovel and addiClassic

While the square addiNovel needles focus on perfect ergonomics and are a good choice especially for aching hands due to their square shape and strong structure, the addiUnicorn needles impress with their lighter, spiral structure.

Compared to the addiNovel needle tips, the massage effect is somewhat softer with the round addiUnicorn knitting needles. The stitch pattern benefits from the structure on both needles and especially loose knitters should test both, as the structure of the needle tips guides the stitches well.

For strong knitters, the more even Unicorn structure is more suitable, as the stitches slip better here than with the Novel structure.
